With a MARTA station on the Square, and great bars and restaurants everywhere, Decatur is arguably the best one-stop beer destination in metro Atlanta.

But this weekend is even more happening than usual, with new beers, beers from new breweries, festivals, a pub crawl, and a beer dinner on tap in the next 48 hours.

The annual Oktoberfest celebration at Brick Store Pub is 11 a.m.-6 p.m. with fest food specials, mugs of Ayinger, Spaten and Victory fest beer and special tappings of Terrapin Cuckoo Fest and Creature Comforts Tritonia. Enjoy the passing of "Das Boot" and the chicken dance, too.

The 4th annual Green Chile Roast kicks off at noon at the Square Pub on the Square. Look for a major menu of New Mexico green chile dishes and seven draft and cask chile pepper beers, including Twain's Gomez's Oatmeal Pepper Porter, Ballast Point Sculpin Habanero IPA, Jekyll Pineapple Habanero IPA, Terrapin Guano Loco, Wrecking Bar Mexican Siberius Maximus,Red Hare Green Chile Brown, Monday Night Hatch Green Chile Drafty Kilt, and Wild Heaven Ode to Mercy with Chipotle and Cocoa Nibs.

Also at noon, the flash mob-like OktUBERcrawl appears offering a "craft beer romp through Decatur and Avondale, seeking out local grog, food, as well as rare beers sprinkled in for good measure." Whether you want to take a Uber ride after it's over will be up to you.

In nearby Avondale, Wild Heaven hosts its first Oktoberfest party and tour at the brewery, featuring the new Autumn Defense Marzen, plus a special stein on sale for $20.

On Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., Paper Plane hosts a Wild Heaven beer dinner, with chef Eddie Russel of Four Courseman fame, and Wild Heaven brewer Eric Johnson. $60 with cocktails and beer pairings.

Beyond the weekend, new Atlanta brewery Second Self hosts a Decatur pub crawl on Tuesday: Ale Yeah-Decatur (4 p.m.), Kimball House (5 p.m.), Marlay House (6 p.m.), Square Pub (7 p.m.), Cypress Street Pint & Plate (7 p.m.), Victory Sandwich Bar (8 p.m.), Brick Store Pub (9 p.m.).
