American Craft Beer Week 2016 (ACBW), which runs May 16-22, concludes this weekend, with small and independent craft breweries and beer bars and restaurants once again holding celebrations and hosting events in all 50 states.
Around metro Atlanta, local bars and breweries have been joining in the festivities , with Monday Night participating the ACBW Biggest Small Beer Ever celebration, and Red Brick, Sweetwater and others offering special tappings throughout the week.
Here are a few more weekend events to consider.
Avondale Anniversary Parties — Wild Heaven Craft Beers celebrates its second anniversary with parties at the brewery in Avondale Estates on Saturday and Sunday. Besides the anniversary, the big news is the unveiling of two new beers, including the brewery's first ever IPA and the debut a new barrel-aged wild ale called Emmylou.
Sneak Peek Saturday — Second Self Beer Co., which has been closed to the public since December for an expansion, will host an outdoor event at the brewery on Saturday, where guests can tour the new, under construction tasting room. Also, a limited number of souvenir cans of Second Self's seasonal releases, CitrusIPA and Maverick and Gose, will be available.
Tap into Georgia Beer Festival — The annual benefit for the Dunwoody Nature Center is Saturday at Brook Run Park, with over 25 Georgia breweries showcasing at least two beers, plus souvenir glassware, live music, on-site food from Village Burger and the Mad Italian.
