Peachtree Ridge LB waiting for recruiting to pick up

Kam Jones, a 3-star inside linebacker from Peachtree Ridge High School, is not as well known to the recruiting world as some of his teammates, but he’s ready to change that.
The 6-foot-1, 218-pound linebacker has set some lofty goals for himself this upcoming season, and one is to break Peachtree Ridge’s single-season tackle record, which is held by Kevin Minter (136), a current NFL linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals.
“I’m just trying to follow some footsteps,” Jones said.

Jones told the AJC that he’s still awaiting and reviewing all offers, but does acknowledge that he has received offers from Mississippi State, UConn, Northwestern and North Texas. However, he doesn’t have any leaders at the moment.
But of the four schools mentioned, though, Jones appears to have taken a particular interest in Mississippi State given its status in the SEC and its recent success developing players for the next level.
“I love the SEC, of course,” Jones. “I know what progress they made last year and they have a couple of players in the league, and I always look forward to that.”
While he doesn’t have a specific school in mind that he would like an offer from, Jones says any from the ACC, Pac-12 or SEC will suffice.
“Any of those teams are satisfying,” Jones said. “But any offer is good.”
Jones’ father, Tony, is a former NFL offensive tackle. He played 13 seasons in the league, including four with the Denver Broncos, where he won two Super Bowls.
