Date/time: 6:30 p.m. Friday

The gist: Chris Roberts spoke about his game-in-progress, "Star Citizen," a space combat sim from the maker of the beloved "Wing Commander" series. The talk was a state-of-the-game talk. It has just passed $75 million in crowdfunding, a staggering, record amount for a video game that is still being built. Roberts gave a sneak peak at the latest build of the game, which features single-player gaming as well as trading and MMO world building, and it looks pretty meticulous. Roberts is well aware of bugs in the game and things that need fixing, but he also seemed excited to be returning to gaming after a detour into making films in Hollywood.

Takeaways: "Star Citizen" is very community focused; they're footing the bill by purchasing ships and staking their space claim. VR is something Roberts said his company is looking at, it's just a matter of prioritizing resources.
