If email is still an ongoing mess for you and you use Gmail, you may be interested in a new app from Google: "Inbox." The new free app, released last week, works with existing Gmail accounts and helps sort emails into categorized bundles such as "Shopping" and "Travel." That's not too different from last year's optional Gmail redesign, which introduced prioritized inboxes and categorizing.
But “Inbox” has a few other features, including “Highlights” and “Reminders,” which bring important information buried in emails to the fore and a snooze feature to defer emails for a later time. Some of those features were only available previously as add-ons such as a tool called “Boomerang.”
Is there a catch? The app, which is available for Android and iOS devices as well as computers, is invite-only for now. To request "Inbox," send an email to inbox@google.com from a Gmail address.
