New video games this week:

"The Evil Within." – Billed as a return to pure survival horror from game designer Shinji Mikami, the creator of the "Resident Evil" series. It involves the investigation of a mass murder and lots of gruesome monsters. This one is definitely not for kids. Rated M for Mature. $60 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC.

"Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel." — A role-playing shooter that takes place on Pandora's moon, Elpis and which tells the origin story of "Borderlands" villains. It includes four new playable character classes and will likely be pretty bonkers if previous games are any indication. $60, for PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PS3.
