Atlanta’s rain chances fade through evening, but warm temps continue

Currently, the temperature is 72 degrees in Atlanta, down from a high of 80, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The average high for this time of year is 68.

That warm weather brought a few showers across parts of metro Atlanta earlier, but they will drop off through the evening, Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

There remains a 20 percent rain chance Friday and a 30 percent chance Saturday.

“We're going to have several days of summer,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Expect a 77-degree high Saturday and Sunday. Some areas, including Eatonton, LaGrange and Rome, could see highs in the 80s.

Highs are then expected to hit 79 Monday and Tuesday, 70 Wednesday and 68 Thursday in Atlanta.
