Atlanta went from one extreme to another.
Temperatures reached 80 degrees, following a morning low of 49, according to Channel 2 Action News. Temps passed the projected 79-degree high.
It is currently 77 degrees in Atlanta.
“The high school football games, homecoming, whatever you have planned,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said, “weather’s going to be great through this evening.”
Night owls are in for a treat with the Orionid metero shower, set to begin at 1:30 a.m., Channel 2 reported. Between 15 and 20 shooting stars per hour could be seen during the shower, Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.
Lows are expected to drop to the 50s Saturday, with highs staying in the 70s, according to the news station.
“We’ll see plenty of sunshine and it will be nice and warm by noon,” Burns said.
Highs are forecast to reach 79 Saturday, 76 Sunday and 72 Monday, Channel 2 reported.
There is a 20 percent chance of light rain Sunday night and a 100 percent chance of thunderstorms Monday.
