New video games out this week:

"The Banner Saga 2." In this sequel to the gorgeously animated Kickstarter success story, the Viking tale continues in a mix of melodrama and turn-based strategy gaming. Plot points caused by players made in the first game carry over into this sequel. The game is from Austin's Stoic Studio. Rated T for Teen. $20-$25 in Standard and Deluxe Editions for Windows PC and Mac.

"Star Fox Zero." (Available Friday) Nintendo's flying-critter space jam returns in grand style in this frenetic shoot-em up that introduces a variety of new vehicle types to the mix. Also available as a bonus disc or download: the companion game "Star Fox Guard." Rated E-10+ for Everyone 10 and Older. $60, for Nintendo Wii U.
