The NCAA rescinded its one-year postseason ban on West Georgia, which was included in a four-year probation last week for infractions that included using 119 ineligible athletes in competition from 2004-09. The ban was not agreed upon by West Georgia, nor did the NCAA's Division II infractions committee impose it, but it was mistakenly included in the NCAA's final infractions report. The ban was in effect for the 2009-10 academic year.

"We are pleased that the NCAA reversed itself on this issue," said Gulf South Conference commissioner Nate Salant. "Most of the student-athletes who are on West Georgia's teams this year had nothing to do with those violations and most of the coaches had nothing to do with those mistakes."
