Steven Collins, who was 17-6 in two seasons at Union Grove in Henry County, has stepped down to spend more time with his family, according to the Henry Daily Herald.

Union Grove athletics director Ralph Neeley has indicated that Collins' replacement likely would come from the current staff.

The offensive coordinator is Russ Atkins. The defensive coordinator is Jeremy Ross.

Collins had denied rumors that he was stepping down.

"I don't know where all that came from. None of that is true," Collins told the Clayton News Daily and Henry Daily Herald last month. "Funny how that rumor stuff starts."
