A former NFL player was arrested for suspected marijuana possession Friday.

Jabar Gaffney, 35, a wide receiver who played for teams including the Dolphins, Broncos and Patriots during 11 seasons in the NFL, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to Sumter County Sheriff's Office records.

He was booked into the Sumter County Jail shortly before 5:30 p.m. Friday and was released around 11 p.m. after posting a $7,000 bond, according to records.

Gaffney played for the University of Florida before he was drafted No. 33 overall in 2002.
