Sports Illustrated reporter Andy Benoit may never want to interview Dan Quinn again, after Benoit received a first-hand demonstration of how to properly tackle from the Atlanta Falcons head coach.

During their one-on-one conversation during this past weekend’s NFL scouting combine, Quinn used Benoit as a tackling dummy to explain the importance of correct tackling technique. Benoit said Quinn wanted to express safe tackling practices, however the only one safe was Quinn who kept planting Benoit onto the carpet of a ballroom at The Conrad, a hotel in downtown Indianapolis.

“I realized Quinn’s enthusiasm when, for this instructive session, he started moving ballroom chairs that were already out of the way. We had about a 2,000 square-foot playing area—plenty of room to move at a faster-than-walking clip,” Benoit wrote.

After explaining the proper techniques to bringing down a ball carrier, Quinn made Benoit watch film and break down where tacklers went right and where they went wrong.
