Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons is well known on the East Coast and in the National League after playing 499 games in four seasons with the Braves.

Maybe not so much out West and in the American League though.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Angels outfielder Quintin Berry has said more than 20 people, including teammates, have confused him with Simmons this spring. Berry even taped a piece of paper to his warmup jersey Thursday morning that read: "I'm not Simmons."

Berry is 6 feet tall and 175 pounds and 31 years old. Simmons is 6-2, 195 and 26 years old.

Berry has played 124 major-league games. He's suited up for the Tigers, Red Sox, Orioles and Cubs.

Simmons, meanwhile, is attempting to settle in with his new team in spring training after being traded by the Braves in the offseason.

He was an early arrival at Angels training camp but has already incurred an unofficial fine. Simmons took part in batting practice wearing a long-sleeved shirt and shorts and then walked into a conference room wearing the same attire.

Simmons' shorts violated team policy. Manager Mike Scioscia requires all players attending meetings to be dressed in baseball pants and ready to hit the field.

So Simmons will be required to buy the team a meal.

"This is part of the culture," Scioscia told the L.A. Times. "They buy lunch if they mess up here or there."
