Bobby Jones Golf Course, which was severely damaged by last week's floods, opened back up for business on Monday. However, it will be another few weeks before patrons will be able to play all 18 holes of the downtown Atlanta course.

"We definitely got the worst of everybody," said Peyton Foshee, the PGA teaching pro at Bobby Jones. "But we should be 100 percent by the middle of October."

On Monday, the club was charging a $20 discounted rate for a cart, drink of your choice and unlimited play of holes No. 1-13. Foshee expected No. 14-16 to be cleared for golf within two days, while the course's final two holes will take two to three more weeks for repairs.

Last week, the flooding had more than half of the course under water for 24 hours, including three feet deep in some areas. On Monday, mud was evident on every hole, while Nos. 17 and 18 had a couple of feet of sand buildup in some areas.

Meanwhile, Browns Mill has all 18 holes open after closing down the front nine for three days.

"We had three or four holes completely under water for a day, but that has gone away," said Abe Sekeres, assistant general manager at Browns Mill.

"We're still pretty wet on a few holes, but not enough to keep anyone from playing. If we keep getting this sunshine this week, we'll be back to normal very soon."
