Imagine going on a whale watching expedition only to miss one breaching right next to your boat.
Passengers on a whale-watching boat in Sydney, Australia, had it happen to them Tuesday.
Mashable reported the unfortunate happening was captured by photographer JP Goodridge.
"The guys on the boat were watching some other activity to the right, then boom to the left…" Goodridge wrote about the photo, indicating that as the watchers minded what was happening to the right, the whale was breaching a few meters away to the left.
Tour group Whale Watching Sydney shared the image and said the photo happened during its 2 p.m. cruise.
Despite an enthusiastic caption of the photo, the group did note that everyone was looking the wrong way.
