Parisians turned out in droves at local bars and restaurants across the city Tuesday night, in response to restaurant owners who called for public gatherings as an act of defiance.

The rally cry was #TousAuBistrot. Translation: "Everyone to the bar!" Other tweeted #JeSuisEnTerrasse - "I am on the terrace" - to show they were not going to stop going out.
A logo was created to spread the word on social media.
