A 12-year-old boy from Mexico posted a video of the evidence that he says proves the link between vaccines and autism.
The twist to Marco Arturo's video is he can't find any scientific link between the two, calling out anti-vaccine parents who refuse to vaccinate their children over a perceived link between autism and childhood shots.
His video has gone viral since it was posted on May 24, reaching more than 4.8 million views on Facebook. It has also gotten the attention of celebrities like Ashton Kutcher who shared his story.
Arturo told the "Today Show" via email that, "I've done research on the hypothesis of a link between autism and vaccines and I've gotten to the conclusion that there isn't any at all."
The debate over vaccines and autism link has been going on for about 20 years after a controversial study showed a connection between the mumps-measles-rubella vaccine and autism. The original study was discredited, but it has not stopped parents to hold off on or even decide against some if not all childhood vaccinations.
When prodded as to where he comes from, Arturo explains that he is from Mexico but admits that his accent is unusual. English, Arturo explains, is his second language learned partially in school, but mostly from the internet.
