A female green sea turtle nicknamed "Bank" has died two weeks after surgery to remove 915 coins she had swallowed after they had been tossed into her pool.
BBC News reported Tuesday that the 25-year-old turtle went into a coma after undergoing a second operation Sunday in Bangkok. The second surgery was performed after it was noticed that she was breathing slowly and had an intestinal infection.
The turtle died Tuesday. Doctors said the cause was blood poisoning.

CNN reported that the coins had been tossed into her pool by visitors for good luck.
Bank had been doing well a week after her first surgery.
Dr. Nantarika Chansue, who was one of the surgeons who worked on Bank, wrote on Facebook that Bank "fully recovered from the surgery on March 6."
"She at least had the chance to swim freely and eat happily before she passed," The Associated Press quoted Chansue as saying.
