It's like a real-life scene out of "Finding Dory."
An octopus mischievously made its way out of a tank in a New Zealand aquarium and into a pipe leading to the ocean.
CNN reported that Inky the octopus moved across the aquarium floor and squeezed out of a gap at the top of the tank, making its way down a drainage pipe to Hawke's Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
Inky was caught by fishermen on the coast of Napier, New Zealand, and donated to the National Aquarium of New Zealand two years ago.
Aquarium manager Rob Yarrell told Hawke's Bay Today that Inky, like most octopus, liked being secluded, although he was in the enclosure with another octopus.
"They are always exploring, and they are great escape artists," Yarrell said.
"While he was with us, he would have learned a lot," Yarrell said. "He was the type that was inquisitive and a bit wiser than we thought."
Yarrell said the aquarium does not plan to get another octopus to replace Inky, nor will it put out a search for the escape artist. Instead, the aquarium will "chalk this up to experience."
