If you’re looking for a break from the wet weather, we’ve got some bad news for you. Isolated storms and showers are back in the forecast Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
“Again today. Again tomorrow. Again on Saturday, and Sunday, too,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “We are in that summer pattern.”
Downpours from Wednesday night are making for a foggy start to the day.
“It’s patchy, but there could be a few spots of reduced visibility this morning before the sun comes up across North Georgia,” he said.
Right now, things are nice and dry, with temperatures across metro Atlanta in the mid- and upper 70s.
Things will heat up quickly. By 1 p.m., temperatures will start approaching the predicted high of 93 degrees. It will be the 11th consecutive day of temperatures in the 90s, according to Channel 2.
The chance of rain will pick up around the same time, the news station reported.
“We’ll have more storms, more opportunities to use your windshield wipers on the way home today,” Monahan said.
The storms won’t be as widespread as they were earlier in the week, he said. Many areas will stay relatively dry.
However, we will continue to see pop-up storms for the remainder of the week. The chance of rain increases to 40% on Friday and 60% on Saturday.
“Plan for the showers and storms for the next few days,” Monahan said.
Drivers will want to be mindful of the wet and foggy conditions while on the road today, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. However, for the moment, there are no major trouble spots across metro Atlanta.
