Q: I have missed seeing Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld on “Sunday Housecall” on Fox News. Has he retired?
-- Shirley Broyles, Atlanta
A: Rosenfeld has retired from TV, David Clark, the executive producer of weekend news and programming at Fox News, told Q&A on the News in an email. "Earlier this year, Dr. Rosenfeld hung up his white coat and left his medical practice after deciding to spend more time with his family and friends and to engage in his many other passions and pursuits," Clark said. Clark said the network soon will make a decision about the future of "Sunday Housecall."
Q: Are those remote-controlled TV cameras, which are suspended by wires from four different points on the stadium, permanent or temporary? What municipality or city would inspect those for safety?
-- John Grady, Lawrenceville
A: Skycam is a 25-pound robotic camera that is suspended from a cable-driven computerized system and presents an overhead view of a game's action for the television audience. If a network, like ESPN or ABC, decides to use Skycam for a game, it will send a crew to the selected stadium about two or three days beforehand to begin installation, Dean Buchan, a Georgia Tech athletic department spokesman, told Q&A on the News in an email. He said Georgia Tech has permanent fixtures to provide anchors for the cables that support the camera. Skycam has been used at many sporting events, including Georgia Tech's game against Virginia Tech on Nov. 10, Buchan wrote. He added that ESPN is liable for Skycam and its safety.
