The use of drones for surveillance of private property without permission or a search warrant would be banned under legislation proposed in the state House.
Rep. Kevin Cooke, R-Carrollton, introduced House Bill 157 on Thursday.
It says no aircraft, manned or unmanned, may come within 100 feet above private property “for the purpose of searching or engaging in surveillance without a search warrant or permission of the property owner.”
