End of winter break: When metro Atlanta students return to school

Winter break has come to an end, and for metro Atlanta students, that means it’s back to school for the second semester of the school year.

Public schools in metro Atlanta closed the third week of December, sending half of Georgia’s 1.8 million students home for the holidays.

Most of these 19 school districts are returning the second week of January.

Many districts squeezed teacher training days into the break, allowing some students an extra day or two of time off.
