In January, Georgia adopted new rules saying that some people receiving food stamps had to find a job. If they didn’t they would lose their benefits. The new rules have had a significant impact, and numerous people have already been tossed off the rolls.

The new rules have also proven controversial. Some people say the rules are cracking down on people who abuse the food stamp system. Others say they are too harsh and take away people’s access to a very basic need – food.
