Left’s rabid hatred for Trump on full display
First there was the swamp. Now the swamp has managed to transform itself into a sewer. The entire confirmation process for U.S. Supreme Court justice degenerated into a full-time theatrical disgrace devoid of any redeeming value. The Left’s visceral loathing of the president has overwhelmed any basic human dignity that was once associated with the behavior of the members of the “upper” chamber, the U.S. Senate. Instead, they have discarded the constitutional guarantee of due process and have flipped the presumption of innocence to the presumption of guilt. Their excoriation of Judge Kavanaugh for defending himself lacked only the foaming at the mouth that is the hallmark of true madness. Reasoned debate has been replaced with “shut up,” and every timeline for concluding the process is deemed illegitimately premature. If ever there was a time and place for term limits, it is now.

I would like to push back against the notion that the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh are a liberal conspiracy with two words: Neil Gorsuch. Gorsuch was also nominated to the Supreme Court by President Trump. Many liberals were very upset about his nomination. But there were no allegations made against Gorsuch. None of Gorsuch’s former Georgetown Prep classmates (yes, Gorsuch went to the same high school as Brett Kavanaugh) came forward to accuse him of attempted sexual assault. None of Gorsuch’s college classmates offered to talk to the FBI about his drunken belligerence. Gorsuch’s yearbook entry was not rife with sexual innuendo and alcohol references. Gorsuch was confirmed with several Democratic votes. The simplest explanation for a thing is often the correct one. Liberals showed no inclination to orchestrate an extraordinary conspiracy against Neil Gorsuch. Why should we believe that’s what’s happening to Brett Kavanaugh?
