Georgia Power move dishonest, crass
“Prudent,” that’s the metric by which Georgia Power is allowed to pass costs on to ratepayers. How is it prudent to make us pay for 80 percent of predictable cost overruns? The two nuclear reactors being built at Plant Vogtle are currently three years behind schedule. More delays are likely. These delays were an inevitable outcome because the PSC did not set forth prudent measures to protect ratepayers from the costs associated with delays.
If the PSC had acted responsibly, they would have seen to it from the start that Georgia Power would shoulder 80 percent of cost overruns. But, the PSC shielded Georgia Power from accountability and risk. Instead, ratepayers take the majority of the risk, shareholders skate by.
It’s a brilliant strategy to quell dissent among ratepayers by temporarily reducing their bills. It’s a dishonest and crass move, but it’s not prudent.

Johnson might have chance at winning
After the mudslinging debates, I will not be voting for Trump nor Clinton for president. Both are bad, but give you the illusion of a choice.
Instead I am voting for Gary Johnson, the former governor of New Mexico.
Johnson believes in fiscally responsible, smaller government, social tolerance, and practical, fair immigration. I choose to vote for a man with integrity.
Some say that Gary’s chances of winning are slim, but I disagree.
The polls are grossly out of touch with reality and sample those with landline phones only — close to zero people under 35. Neither Clinton-Trump have a comfortable path to the 270 electoral votes, and anything could happen in this election, even a President Gary Johnson.
