Officer betrayed by own community
Help! The Roswell Police Department has not had enough time to brainwash all of its officers. Poor thing! One of them thought she had the freedom to express her own tastes in her own yard as she had done for years. She never even knew the people she protected had turned on her personally. Ah, but the spies of discrimination are hard at work to uproot every flag, every pin, every mention and dutifully spy even on their protectors! We must be very particular about whatever war on American soil we wish to remember.

Don’t let your vote be guided by fear
The 2016 Presidential election has been marked by Donald Trump with doom and gloom, fear, racism, xenophobia, social, and economic divisiveness. His words bring back memories of Barry Goldwater and George Wallace. Many of my fellow Americans have bought the message he has packaged and are fearful and feel terrorized. However, in the words of the legendary journalist and news icon Edward R. Murrow, “no one can terrorize a whole nation, unless we are all his accomplices.” There are some that have become his accomplices but my prayer and my belief is that the majority of Americans on Nov. 8 will send a resounding message that the America he purports to want is not the one this country was built upon.
Trump says “he,” will “make America great again.” Murrow spoke to slogans like these decades ago. He said that for us as Americans that “our major obligation is not to mistake slogans for solutions.”
Vote your conscience, and not fears that have been manipulated.
