Liberal, PC agenda wrecking this nation

As a troubled, fatherless teen who went on to become an Eagle Scout, then a paramedic, I can honestly say the Boy Scouts, now reportedly on the verge of bankruptcy, changed the direction of my life. It saddens me to think other young boys similarly on the edge may now fall off the cliff. While I harbor no ill feelings toward gay people, the unrelenting march of the LGBT political agenda, along with the rise of militant PC culture in particular, is, piece by piece, wrecking this country. The destruction of the Boy Scouts of America is just the latest symptom of the disease, and it’s a national disgrace. We should all be deeply ashamed.

Kemp should try to be governor for all

Regarding “Kemp: ‘Time to put politics behind us’” (News, Dec. 12), how wonderful it would be if Kemp really means this. He might actually try to be the governor of all of us, dropping desires to enact more gun rights and protections of so-called religious (liberty) that would allow discrimination on the basis of claims of religious or ethical beliefs. It would mean abolishing the voter suppression measures he put in place while secretary of state. And it would mean putting the power of Georgia government behind the Constitution and laws to ensure the protection of the rights of all of us —including immigrants, people of color and LGBT individuals. I fear, though, that what he really means is that those of us who worked against his election put “behind us” our objections to the way he stole the election and the policies he wants to enact.
