Islam poses danger to modern nations

Recently, the United States boasted about taking out the No. 2 ISIS leader. The United States and the rest of the developed world seem to still not get it. How many times before have we heard that a major Muslim extremist was taken out by an elite U.S.-backed military force? The United States and the rest of the developed world needs to understand that they are not just fighting Muslim extremists — they are fighting a barbaric religious movement. It doesn’t matter which extremist individual or individuals the U.S. and its allies take out, the truth is that modern developed countries are in danger of being taken over by an extreme barbaric religious group that wants to rule the world and take us back to the dark ages.

GEORGE CAMBLE, ACWORTH

Terrorists are not true Muslims

It is unfortunate to say that Brussels is now in the list of barbaric attacks led by brutal extremists. Innocent people are paying the price of the wrong beliefs of violent extremists who don’t value life. The attack on Brussels is yet again an attack on Islam. ISIS kills people, claiming that this is the teaching of Islam. However, true Islam teaches the sanctity of life. In fact, the campaign True Islam, run by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, directs us to 11 points of the true teachings of Islam. The first point clearly says that Islam is a religion that rejects all forms of terrorism.

As an Ahmadi Muslim, I strongly condemn these attacks. The attack on Brussels is not a true representation of Islam. My prayers and thoughts are with the Brussels victims and families and to all those who have suffered under the hands of violent extremists. The answer is not to stop Islam, but to spread true Islam.
