Georgia Department of Transportation leaders say they’re in almost unprecedented territory — planning to catch up on, and maybe even erase, a long list of road and bridge maintenance. Today, the GDOT brain trust talks about a future working with increased revenues — nearly $1 billion in additional money is expected — due to a new law that raises gas taxes and fees for transportation. In our second column, a resident gives us a personal take on MARTA’s plans for heavy rail in Clayton County.
