Maybe you just never got around to paying that ticket. Or you didn’t show up for court. You know who you are. The City of Atlanta does, too.

You’ll have a chance to clear your name Saturday on Warrant Amnesty Day, the city announced Wednesday.

From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, a special court session will offer those who face arrest and other penalties — due to delinquent traffic, city ordinance, or misdemeanor violations — the opportunity to clear past violations without additional court penalties.

“We are pleased to extend an opportunity for individuals who previously failed to appear at a scheduled court appearance to come forward and resolve their case while saving money and avoiding arrest in the process,” Chief Judge Herman Sloan said in an emailed statement.

In order to qualify for the warrant amnesty program, individuals must have an un-adjudicated citation filed at court before Nov. 18, 2014 or a Failure to Appear for that citation.

Those who want to clear penalties and warrants under the amnesty program are encouraged to visit the court's website at http://court.atlantaga.gov. You can also call the Warrant Department at 404-658-6959 or 404-546-0311 to confirm an outstanding warrant is active.

Participants are asked to complete the warrant amnesty registration form online. You may also register in person.

Once full payment is received and the case is closed, the court will provide written documentation that the warrant has been canceled.
