The home of 90-year-old Agnes was falling apart.
After a relative continuously used her backyard as a dump, the elderly woman began to face fines of up to $2,500 per day. Agnes was hopeless. She felt used, abused and couldn’t figure out how to clean up the huge mess.
“I tried to get in to get it out. It was terrible, all kinds of garbage. My roof had got bad and there was animals and stuff getting in. I didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t able to do it and I knew I couldn’t do it,” she said.
She decided to call Operation Blessing, a nonprofit organization that agreed to renovate the house and so much more.
“They’re angels,” said Agnes with such happiness. “They came in and cleaned out all the stuff, tore the sheds down and tore the trailer down, taken everything out.”
As more volunteers came in to help out, Operation Blessing was able to build a pathway into the backyard, plant flowers, clean out Agnes’ shed and even surprise her with the one thing she had been praying for: an air conditioner.
“God bless them and they’re wonderful. And I love them all. I’ve been blessed and blessed and God has never left me and He’s still with me,” Agnes said in tears.
