A young girl from Ellwood City, Pennsylvania who underwent a rare quadruple transplant a few weeks ago is doing well, according to her mother.
Kyree Beachem, 8, is recovering from the surgery at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Her mother, Nan Beachem, stepped away from Kyree's bedside to speak briefly with Channel 11’s Carly Flynn Morgan on Sunday afternoon.
“Everything looks fantastic with this transplant. There's been no signs of rejection whatsoever," she said.
Kyree has had some challenges in her recovery, including a collapsed lung, but her mother said it hasn’t brought her spirits down.
More than 23,000 have been following her progress on the Kyree's Dream Team Facebook page.
"She is a person you can see her personality coming through every picture that's there. She's very captivating."
