11-year-old home alone with little sister shoots, kills alleged intruder

Update, 2:53 p.m. - Neighbors of the 11-year-old boy who shot an older teen in the head have told police they don't believe it was a home invasion.

According to reports in the St. Louis Dispatch, a neighbor said the 11-year-old boy invited the older teen into his home.

However, police have continued to say the evidence contradicts those witness accounts. Police believe the 16-year-old was killed as he was trying to break into the home. His body was found in the foyer, The St. Louis Dispatch reported Friday.

Police have identified the victim in the shooting as Lamonte Streeter.
