Taylor Sloan went to a Supercross bike racing event in Oakland, California, Jan. 30 and didn't want to have too much stuff to carry.

"I had one of those wallets that doubles as a mini-purse," Sloan told TODAY.com. "It probably should have been inside something, but I didn't want to carry much, so I just had it in my back pocket."

Sloan thinks that having the wallet in her back pocket is what led to it going missing. She said it may have fallen out when she was sitting down and didn't notice.

Only when she left the Supercross Live event did she realize what happened.

A few days later, Sloan's mother called her and said she had a package with her address on it.

She sent her an image of the package.

"I didn't recognize the return address, so I told her to go ahead and open it."

The package had Sloan's lost wallet and all her belongings.

It also included a letter dated Jan. 31 with a child's handwriting.

The letter reads:

"Dear Sloan. My name is Nasim Lawrence, and I am 10 years old. I found your wallet on the ground at the supercross event in Oakland. I know how it feels to lose something, and I wanted to make sure you got your wallet back. Hopefully, I have made you smile, and you are happy to have your money and ID back. I am glad I found it instead of some bad person who would steal from you. You look like a very nice person who does nice things for people, so I wanted to do something nice for you,. Plus, it was the honest thing to do."

Lawrence also left his address for Sloan in case she wanted to write back.

When Sloan told her friend Dano Wano, a country music radio DJ, he posted the story on the station's Facebook page with her permission.

Since then, it has been shared hundreds of times, and Lawrence has been able to connect with Sloan since his school principal told him he famous he was.

Sloan wrote Lawrence back with a thank you, a $20 reward and a bag of candy. "I hope he writes back. I'd love for us to be pen pals!"
