Woman involved in Walmart brawl reveals what started fight

A woman who claims she was one of the participants in a brawl at a Walmart store in Indiana that has quickly gone viral is telling her side of the story.

Amber Stephenson was interviewed on the Smiley Morning Show on WZPL, according to Fox59. She says the incident began when the woman in the motorized scooter called a Walmart employee the n-word.

Stephenson said she confronted the woman to stand up for the employee.

The verbal confrontation quickly became physical, and Stephenson’s young son is seen participating in the attack, hitting and throwing a bottle of shampoo at the woman his mother is attacking.

As for her son being involved in the incident, Stephenson says her son is a straight-A, honor roll student who takes martial arts classes and spends a lot of time in the gym with his father. She said her son is “raised perfectly right.”

Stephenson claims police laughed at the video of the fight.

Walmart issued the following statement regarding the incident:

“This type of behavior inside one of our stores is completely unacceptable and we are notifying the individuals involved that they are no longer welcome on Walmart property. Once we were aware of this situation, a member of our management immediately called the police and we are continuing to work with them on this matter.”

Beech Grove Mayor Dennis Buckley called the incident “embarrassing” and blamed Walmart for not implementing better security at the store, which is reportedly the site of significant police activity.
