An American Airlines plane was temporarily out of service Thursday night after an employee working at Logan Airport took a selfie on its wing.
A spokesperson for the airline said that a contractor for SwissPort, who is a badged employee and allowed on airport property, climbed on the wing of a plane and snapped a selfie, which forced American Airlines to briefly take the aircraft out of service to ensure that there was no damage.
In order to be a badged employee at the airport, the person must have necessary background checks for clearance.
The contractor will not face any charges, Mass State Police said Friday morning. It is now up to MassPort whether or not further action will be taken.
