The 2016 presidential election featured two of the most disliked presidential candidates of all time. One politician who tried to offer an alternative was libertarian Gary Johnson.
Johnson is a popular former governor of New Mexico who ran as the Libertarian Party representative. He describes his beliefs (to the consternation of fellow libertarians who dislike this characterization) as socially liberal but fiscally conservative. He ran with Bill Weld as his VP.
Johnson has a “life partner named Kate Prusack and two kids, Seth and Erik. They live in Laos, New Mexico, where Prusack flips homes.
In college, Johnson started his own handyman business and built it into a multi-million-dollar construction company.
The 63-year-old is an avid triathlete. He climbed Mount Everest in 2003 after breaking his leg.
