Matt Little's video – taken as he and his brother were walking through a New York subway’s turnstile – has gone viral, with more than 1.4 million views on YouTube by Tuesday morning.
"A rat tries to bring slice of pizza down subway station stairs. OR Master Splinter bringing food home to feed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?" Little jokes in the video's description.
Apparently, there's more to this little critter than meets the eye.
"Watching this rat trying to carry something bigger than him down the stairs is in a way a great encapsulation of what it's like to be a New Yorker," Little, 35, told WINS.
