What to know now:
1. Trump, Clinton, Kasich win: Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were the big winners in Tuesday's round of presidential primaries. Clinton took Florida, the biggest prize of the night for the Democrats, Ohio, North Carolina and Illinois. Trump took Florida, North Carolina and Illinois. Gov. John Kasich won Ohio. Clinton and Trump were ahead in Missouri, but results were not final there.
2. Marco Rubio is out: After losing to Donald Trump in his home state of Florida, Sen. Marco Rubio announced he was dropping out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Rubio told supporters, "While we are on the right side, this year, we will not be on the winning side."
3. Supreme Court pick: Several media outlets are reporting that President Obama will announce a nominee to the Supreme Court Wednesday to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia. A source said to be familiar with the selection process says the pick will be either Judge Sri Srinivasan or Judge Merrick Garland.
4. Shootout with police: A Texas police office was critically injured and a suspect killed in a shootout in a Fort Worth field Tuesday. The incident happened after the officer attempted to arrest a man on three felony charges. The man, Ed McIver Sr., and his son, Ed McIver Jr., exchanged gunfire with the officer. The father was killed.
5. Metro's closed: The Washington D.C. Metrorail will be closed Wednesday while it's hundreds of miles of tracks and stations are shut down. The system, which hundreds of thousands use to get to work in the city, is being shut down for an emergency inspection of its cables. The inspection is expected to take 29 hours. Federal workers were told they could work from home or take the day off.

It's the interstate that's closed in the South. Unrelenting rains have flooded parts of Interstate 10 in Louisiana and Texas, forcing authorities in those states to close portions of the road. The road was closed late Tuesday at the Texas/Louisiana border. Authorities in Louisiana said portions of Interstate 59 in south Louisiana and south Mississippi may also have to close.
