—Richard Tobias, Peachtree City

The study by Brendan J. Doherty, an assistant professor at the United States Naval Academy, found that Obama spent 18 days abroad during the first six months, compared to 12 days for President George H.W. Bush, nine days for President George W. Bush, six days for President Jimmy Carter and two days each for President Ronald Reagan and President Bill Clinton. Obama traveled to domestic events for 19 days during the first six months as president, compared to President George W. Bush, with 40 days, President George H.W. Bush, with 24 days, and President Clinton, with 21 days. His trips outnumber President Carter, with 10 days, and President Reagan, with seven days.
