A teen ravaged his mother’s car and broke out the windshield after she took away his cellphone.
The mother said she took away her 13-year-old son’s cellphone after he refused to clean his bedroom and acted up around 6 p.m. Friday.
After she took away the phone, the mother said the boy spat on her and struck his stepfather in the back with a large bottle of Gatorade, according to a Dayton police report.
The 13-year-old then went outside the West Second Street home and jumped on his mother’s white 2001 Honda Accord. He stomped in the roof and smashed out the front windshield, causing extensive damage to the car, according to the police report.
The boy then ran away from home, saying he would not come back. He returned home a few hours later. The boy’s mother then alerted the police, and the youth was taken to the juvenile justice center.
