A teenager with a big heart is giving back to his community to celebrate his birthday.

Ryan Nelson marked his 13th year by donating all his birthday money to a local church in his hometown, Harriman, Tennessee, according to WVLT.

He packed and donated canned soup and warm blankets for the needy in anticipation of the cold months ahead.

"The community, in my opinion, has given me so much, so I think this year on my birthday, it’s time to give back to the community," Nelson told WVLT.
