A man took aim at his neighbor's house firing corncobs with a homemade potato gun Tuesday, police said.
Jeffrey Osella, 50, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and firing in a compact area, according to the Westerly Sun.
Police were called to Osella's neighbor's house after he and the man got into an argument. After the yelling, Osella started firing corncobs toward the neighbor's house. A witness told police that Osella's daughter was nearly hit by a corncob.
Osella used a potato gun, a homemade apparatus using PVC as a firing tube and a small amount of aerosol as propellant ignited from a grill lighter.
When police went to Osella's, he answered the door shirtless with corn kernels stuck to him. Osella denied shooting the neighbor, but said he did shoot toward his house.
