Ben Moser and Mary Lapkowicz were friends in fourth grade, according to Penn Live.
Throughout their school year, if Mary, who has Down syndrome, wasn't having fun, or taking part in whatever was going on, Ben would include her.
At the end of the fourth grade, Ben promised that he would take Mary to the prom when they got older.
As many stories go, the two ended up going to two different schools, not seeing each other until last year. when Ben and Mary's high schools played football against each other, Penn Live reported.
Ben didn't forget his fourth grade promise.
Earlier this year, he showed up with balloons with prom written on them, and gave them to Mary, asking her to be his date.
She said she was surprised by the promposal, but she was overjoyed to be going to the dance with Ben.
