'Psychic' waiter awarded half of lottery winner's $1.7M winnings

Pair work together in New York restaurant

Ozcan told Kucukkoylu he had a dream about showing off a ton of cash, and repeatedly asked him to buy the Euro Millions tickets.

Kucukkoylu runs the Kapadokya Turkish restaurant in York where Ozcan waits tables, according to the Telegraph.

After hitting the jackpot Metro reports Kucukkoylu claimed the money was all his.

Nevertheless, Judge Mark Gosnell disagreed, saying because the plaintiff was "a strong believer in the power of dreams, he interpreted his own dream to mean that he, and Mr. Kucukkoylu would win the lottery."

Gosnell also watched a surveillance tape that showed the men buy the tickets and picking the numbers together.

"I find that the effect of these conversations was that Mr. Kucukkoylu and Mr. Ozcan entered into a contract to jointly play the lottery on an equal basis," Gosnell finished.

Each share comes to just over $850,000.
