Only 500 of the gold leaf-covered treats will be made and sold in the country, according to MSN. They won't be cheap, either. The candy will cost 2,016 yen, or about $22 American, and instead of the traditional four Kit Kat sticks in a package, there will be only one.

The treat is called "Sublime Gold" and is described as having a rich, bitter chocolate taste. The bars will be on sale in chocolate boutiques as well as high-end department stores across Japan.

The country is known for having a variety of interesting candy flavors. Nestle Japan has produced more than 200 flavors of Kit Kats, from sweet strawberry to wasabi.
