An 80-year-old man is in the hospital Wednesday night after chasing two burglars out of his home, which is for sale.
The two were attempting to steal copper out of a house.
When the owner of the house came to check in on it, he found Dennis Devanney and Paul Pivirotto inside and chased them from the home.
Several neighbors called police.
The 80-year-old owner feared that he was having a heart attack after chasing two burglars and went to the hospital. He told police that if he were younger-he would have caught them.
Neighbors told WPXI's Cara Sapida that Devanney and Pivirotto are well known on their street. The neighbors did not want to be identified.
“It's very sad, very sweet man and this time of year you don't want to hear that happen to anyone,” one neighbor said.
The judge told Devanney and Pivirotto that if the man dies, he’s going to charge them with homicide.
One of the suspects told the judge that he’s addicted to heroin and needs help.
