It is bad enough that the grammar nazis strike on social media, but a self-proclaimed grammar vigilante is correcting the wrongs of England.

Well, correcting the wrong grammar usage that is.

The unnamed man has been using the dead of night for 13 years to help add or remove errant apostrophes around his city, BBC reported.

One of his "targets" was a sign at Cambridge Motors that has annoyed the vigilante for years, The Telegraph reported.  Armed with a long pole and some tape and a roller, the fixer removed an extra apostrophe. The change happened one evening without the owner noticing, but once he realized, he was happy.

"I thank him for what he's done. I don't mind at all. It's good to see people still caring about English grammar," Chris McKnight told The Telegraph.

A documentary on the grammar vigilante will be shown on BBC4 Radio's website. You can get more information here.
